Sport and Activities

Watersports

With nearly 400 miles of coastline, Normandy offers you every kind of sea-related activity. In ports all along the coast, the professional instructors of the 80 schools approved by the French Sailing federation advise and train both the young and the not so young.

Whether you prefer a sport catamaran, a dinghy, an optimist or a cruising yacht, sailing is how-you-like-it on the coasts of Normandy, who deserve a blue flag for friendliness.
You can also practice windsurfing, surfboarding, kitesurf, sand-yachting and skimboard, etc.on the beaches, where numerous events are organised each summer for water sports. The July Festival de la Glisse at Agon-Coutainville (Manche) (French) has become the ultimate event for boardsport fans. Surfing on the same wave, Le Havre organised its own boardsport Festival for the first time in June 2007.
